Green Island Design Receives National Environmental Improvement Award
Deer Park, NY, September 12, 2008

Green Island Design is proud to announce it has been awarded the Environmental Improvement Award of Distinction for it’s project, “The Preserve” in the 39th Annual Environmental Improvement Awards Program sponsored by the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET).
Green Island Design conceptualized "The Preserve," an 8-foot-by-5-foot fountain made of South Bay Quartzite stacked stone for The Melting Pot restaurant located in Farmingdale, NY. The fountain resembles the shape, sound, and feel of an actual "melting pot," complete with bubbling water that appears to simmer up at the top as if it were truly boiling, which then cascades down the structures tapered sides.
Owner Jon Pappalardi, “We are extremely excited to showcase our skills and commitment to our clients on a national level. The fact that we are being recognized for this award is a testament to our entire organization as well as The Melting Pot itself. It shows what can be accomplished when two parties are open and honest with each other and share the same enthusiasm throughout the process.”
